I am reaching a more final outcome than perviously.
I have been working on receipts and over christmas my mother unit received gifts from father unit wrapped in really nice newsprint paper and so I have been using that also:
As you can see, I am still working with the specific ritual which I discovered: Endocannibalism (the Yanomami Tribe) and using a childhood to portray their perspective of the ritual. I am also exploring relating the child side of the project to not just perspective, but also physical properties of my work. For example in the piece above the paper is crinkled and the edges are not cut evenly or straight. Deliberately shoddy. I feel this is an obvious child like quality and I actually find it really fun and liberating to not be so precious about neatness. That and using found objects to work on.
