I am part of an art collective about promoting young artists and creators, providing them an outlet for exhibiting their works called East Surrey Youth Militia. A description: ‘East Surrey has an expanse of young artists but few venues to support organising initiatives or displaying the fruits of their labour. Starting with ‘Culture Vacuum’, ESYM will host a series of art exhibitions in different locations, bringing local talent to the fore and creating a dialogue for progression. Created for young people by young people.’ Admittedly I take a back seat now that I am at University, but a show was held on the 1st of October which I exhibited in and travelled back home to see. Below are photos of the show.

My work:

  • Large Acrylic & Spray Paint piece, (first photo) was a collaboration based on the Symposium by greek god Plato: According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves.
  • 2 Canvases: (second photo on the left)
  • 6 Oil drawings: (second photo in corner) titled: The Faces
  • Forth photo is Myself and bebé standing in front of the 2 canvases and The Faces
